Things you should know:

The role of the IT Project Manager is twofold:

1. Deliver allocated projects or project tasks as required to meet business need and demand, working closely with the Portfolio/Head of IT PMO to ensure projects are set-up for success
2. Ensure compliance to the agreed project management standards in accordance with best practices and the needs of the business

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Work closely with business sponsor and stakeholders to ensure business requirements are effectively identified and delivered to achieve business outcomes
• Work with project sponsor, stakeholders and IT management to clearly define and document scope and key deliverables, balancing business priorities with stakeholder expectations
• Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
• Ensure the project identifies, and delivers, any and all functional and non-functional requirement to ensure a successful outcome
• Plan and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
• Ensure all project deliveries are in line with IT PMO Framework
• Maintain effective communication and reporting with project sponsors, senior stakeholders and IT management
• Direct and manage project delivery from beginning to end, ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner, ensuring quality measures and budgets are maintained and tracked
• Ensure effective management of all project team members and that roles/responsibilities are defined and clearly understood
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify, maintain and review the RAID log, ensuring risk is assessed and monitored on an ongoing basis and issues are escalated effectively and managed to resolution
• Ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with Information Security and SOX standards
• Ensure weekly status reports are completed for all areas of the project

Things we need from you:

• Accreditation in, or demonstrable understanding of, a recognised project management methodology such as PRINCE2 and AGILE
• Substantial experience of project management delivery of SaaS and PaaS platforms (Azure, AWS, Google etc) within IT infrastructure and software development environments
• Significant experience in managing projects that use the following technologies - Azure databases, Data Factories and Pipelines
• Experience of working with data and analytics teams
• Advanced experience of technical project management delivery within IT Infrastructure
• Advanced experience of project management delivery of the implementation of business 3rd party products
• Working knowledge of the UK financial services/regulatory sector desirable
• A proven strong track record in successfully managing and delivering multiple, varied and complex projects at once
• Proven expertise in managing multi-function, multi-supplier teams to deliver successful medium to large scale projects
• Working knowledge of DevOps functionality and development
• Excellent leadership skills and stakeholder management skills
• Proven history of managing 3rd party deliveries
• Thorough knowledge of Project PPM toolsets
• Track record of successful project delivery in challenging environments
